Quality starts with the people we select as members of our translation teams. To be included in the ITS roster of preferred linguists, all candidates must meet our minimal requirements, which include:
- native speaker of the target language to which they translate
- certified proof of educational background and work history
- three professional translation references
- evidence that they return and spend at least one month every two years in their native country.
Once these minimal requirements are met, candidates are evaluated with a series of written and/or oral assessments to measure their qualifications, proficiency in specific languages and subject areas, level of accuracy, degree of professionalism, ability to follow specific instructions and ability to complete an evaluation within specific time frames. Once linguists pass our evaluation process, they are required to maintain their status by remaining an active linguist and by updating us regarding changes in their education or other critical information about their work.
